Front Office Application Support - Leading Hedge Fund (London) A leading Hedge who have a very strong reputation in the market, extremely stable, whilst also continuing to grow are currently seeking a strong Front Office Application Support Analyst to join their team. The manager is looking for a dynamic individual who has a strong technical background ideally across Unix/ Linux, SQL with some coding experience (flexible on this around C++, C#, Java, Python), who is keen to grow and develop within the team. There would also be the opportunity to get involved in some basic development tasks (ie fixing code, creating basic code) and improve their technical skill set in this area if the candidate wishes to do so with the help of the manager and the Strategic Development team they have in London. They have a global support team which they are looking to grow with a further hire in London (currently three at the moment) with resources in Asia whilst they are looking to hire someone in the US. From a business knowledge perspective they are ideally looking for Interest Rate Derivatives/ Fixed Income knowledge but would look at someone from other backgrounds such as Equities or FX who have the willingness and aptitude to pick up new business areas. Please note that this hire will be specifically made to help support the traders (across Fixed Income/ Equities/ FX) in the London office who are trading US hours so the hours this person would be working would be between 2-10pm Monday to Friday. Please also note that the manager is considering both permenant and contract individuals for the position.
This role will be responsible for providing in region support to activities within the CVM program (Vulnerability Analysis, Network Scanning & Compliance Monitoring) program as well as the Application Development Security Framework (ADSF) program and management of the regions Ethical Hackers. The role will also be responsible as a global control owner, for managing and providing global oversight for the control and ensuring a sustainable and consistent process is implemented to protect the bank from loss pertaining to physical aspects of information security. This team is responsible for ensuring end-to-end support to all applications used by the Sales, Trading and support services across their FX business. With a continuation of their build out of their Electronic Trading business this is a high profile role working in one of the key revenue generating areas. Key duties will include: Providing technical support and expertise to the delivery of end-to-end operational support. Providing regular, clear and specific feedback to key stakeholders Driving the strategic direction and work with various internal stakeholders to establish and implement best practices on the systems Supporting and driving projects where required. The requirement is for a core Java developer. The team works on a number of trading strategy engines that support benchmark algorithms, smart order routing and internal crossing, serving the EMEA as well as global electronic business. Apart from a continuous stream of strategy enhancements, brand new trading strategies and regulatory requirements, the team is also working on a number of framework related items that affect a number of related systems so there is much scope for cross team integration. The underlying platform has been built on a Java framework with next-generation, cutting edge, low latency and high throughput at the heart of the application. You will have: In depth understanding of core Java API’s (collections, concurrency etc.) Have an understanding of and experience with multithreaded systems, working knowledge of the Java garbage collector, familiar with low latency. Your role will be to engineer and build and configuration management of and testing of the toolkit surrounding the highly sophisticated C++ analytics library with day to day responsibilities also of continuous integration (using Jenkins) as well as the release process to the global markets technology teams and end users on the trading desks. You will have a strong understanding and grounding ideally in both C++ and Python with also multi-platform skills across Windows and Unix. Continuous integration for build/test is also very useful and desirable.
