Application Support Analyst (Emerging Markets) - Investment Bank (London)

An Investment Bank is currently seeking a Senior Application Support Analyst to join its EMEA team. This team is responsible for ensuring end-to-end support to all applications used by the Sales, Trading and support services across their FICC business. 

This team specifically supports the Emerging Markets business, so covers mainly Fixed Income, Credit and FX. The manager believes there is opportunity to grow and develop across the team and there are always exciting projects to get involved with as well.

Most of their systems are run on Unix O/S whilst Python is used extensively (although they would consider individuals with other scripting skills who would like to cross-train into Python).

Main responsibilities will include:

• First point of contact for end business users
• Ownership and delivery of on-boarding support of or processes into the organisation
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with business stakeholders, application development personnel, and infrastructure contacts
• Monitoring and alerting of critical trading system environments
• Troubleshooting of complex systems issues
• Proactive identification and resolution of problem hotspots
• Development of tools and driving efficiency/stability improvements
• Accurate tracking of support effort to enable effective management reporting
• Major Incident management           

Ideally this person will already be supporting the Front Office/ Traders within another organisation, possess strong Unix/ Linux, SQL skills with the ability to de-bug code and to write basic scripts (ie Pythong, Bash, Shell, ect)
